Foundation Leader Course
Introduction
These courses provide candidates with the basic skills to plan and lead safe, enjoyable, health enhancing activities and sessions for young people (mainly aged from 6 to 16 years) participating in HSE Community Games sporting activities. Foundation Leaders will utilise their leadership skills to enhance children’s participation and enjoyment in sporting activities in their local communities.
Entry Requirements
Course candidates will be 16 or over. Candidates will be asked to sign to and abide by the Code of Ethics & HSE Community Games Code of Conduct Policy.
Course Duration
6 hours (excluding breaks).
Assessment
No formal assessment will take place. Course candidates will be certified provided they attend the full course.
Certification
A certificate will be awarded to those who attend the full course. The certificate will be awarded by the HSE Community Games, with Coaching Ireland endorsement.
